Self-taught to fly RC at age 14 with a Marks' Models Windward - a 6-foot wingspan glider, which I slope-soared in the Whittier hills (as well as from a hi-start at a local school). I stopped flying in my 30's as life got in the way. Took it up again about 10 years ago. I became interested in IMAC watching Steve Nelson flying at my home field. I liked that he said that even if you don't compete, that practicing IMAC would make me a better pilot. I started practicing and competed in Basic in 2022, with a 95" EF electric. Accomplishments Southwestern Regional Champion, Basic, 2022 Moved up to Sportsman for 2023. I've had a few podiums, in 2023 & 2024, but no 1st place yet. I've managed to stay married, even after spending crazy amounts of time & money on this awesome sport! |
