How to Qualify for 2024 Tucson Aerobatic Shootout (IMAC Classes)

Points from each applicant’s best 3 contests will help determine which pilots qualify for the Shooutout. Applicants also have the option to include other relevant information such as placement at major contests, etc. We will try to populate the classes with the best pilots from each region within reason and with the intent to put together the most competitive lineup we can. There will be 10 open spots for each IMAC Class (Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, Unlimited) 5 of the spots are reserved for International Pilots. If an International Spot is not filled it will be filled with an available US Pilot. If a class is not filled with 10 pilots we will allow more than 10 pilots in one class. There will be NO MORE than 40 pilots in total for the IMAC Classes.
Points for placement at a given contest will be given according to the table below. An additional 2 points will be awarded for each pilot beat at that contest. For example, a pilot that finishes 2nd at a contest with five contestants receives 14 points corresponding to 8 points for 2nd place plus 6 additional points for beating three pilots.
