Invitational: Jason ShulmanAircraft: Dalton Aviation Yak 54
Radio: Futaba 18SZ Engine: DA-215 Servos: Futaba BLS172 Sponsors: Futaba, JTEC/Radiowave/Dalton Aviation, ThunderPower RC, Falcon, Tuny, Contra Drive, friends, family and credit cards Other Info: Born with nitro in his blood, Jason was raised on the flying field many many moons ago. His brother David, a past RC Champion in several disciplines, was almost born on a flying field. Father Don was a competitive control-line flyer before making his way into the RC field. Grandfather Leon had flown everything from free-flight through indoor electric RC, even the Wright Brothers learned a few things from him when they had dreams and aspersions of flying with the birds. Through the decades, Jason has learned many things from other pilots and applied it to his own flying as well as passing his wisdom and experience onto the slightly older and younger generations of pilots. Many of those pilots have taken their skills to the next level and done so much in their careers. It has been very rewarding to see these pilots showing the old man their improvements by taking a round on him every once in a while, during a contest. Back in the stone ages a few companies believed in Jason’s abilities and gave him a chance to represent their products. His first sponsor was PowerMaster fuels, after that Futaba decided to give to young Jason a chance and, even after all these years they still believe in his ability to remained part of the Team. Other companies, such as Thunder Power RC, JTEC/RadioWave/Dalton Aviation, Tuny, Falcon and Contra Drive, feel that the old man still has a few skills left in the tank. Regardless of his hair dropping from his head to his chin, chest muscles going to belly fat and back pain spreading to knee pain, Jason will continue to be flying for decades with a cane and/or a wheelchair, as long as it’s still fun.
